the pulpit guitar tablature

below is some very simple tablature for the songs. click on the title of the song for a more complex and drawn-out explanation.

A Sucker's Evening:
NO chords, just notes G,A,D over and over and then an F and the end of each verse.

Agnes, Queen of Sorrow:
f-a#-c, then when he switches words ("every time," "got a letter," "time has gotten me") it's dm-a#-f...

All Is Grace...

Allowance...

Arise Therefore (2 ways):
1) the old singer songwriter standby, G,C,D.
2)...G.............F.D.......G
.....there will be no end soon...

Brute Choir (several versions):
(1) Am,G,Am,F,Am,G,F until the words begin, then it's:Am,G,Am,D,Am,G,F, and then repeats the first part during "All the way down..." and so forth. At the end ("The Choir...")it goes C to G...I think
(2) it may be in F# but will uses a capo on the second fret so: Without the capo its: F#m E, F#m B, F#m E D the F#m-E-D part is repeated ('all the way down') The final part changes up to A: just A and D
(3)With capo on second fret: E D, E A, E D C and then G to C...

Cat's Blues: verse:A11 to Em (but only on the 3, maybe 4 lowest strings) repeatedly, then C during 2nd measure of each line. The chorus goes from E to A...

Cellar Song...

Christmastime In the Mountains...

Come In...

Drinking Woman:
it goes from D to C and back again many times; towards the end, it goes from C to G back to C during the aforementioned C part, if you've heard the song, you know what I am talking about.

(End of) Travelling:
while i don't think any one guitar does this on the song, the bass line just repeats: E-B-A-B and strumming that works fine...

Gulf Shores (three different ways):
(1) i think the chords for "You have laid here..." are some kind of F#,A,B,E, but I'm not certain...
(2) it alternates Amaj7 and E but I can't figure out the third chord that he plays during the "you have laid there by the waterside" part. chorus: F#m-E-B-D-A-E...
(3)try F#m G#m B#m A then back to E. It sounds better if you don't hit the bass note (low E string) until the A chord and play the chords at the 2nd, 4th, 7th and 5th frets...

Horses:
verse: G-F-C ... chorus:f-c-g...

I Send My Love to You (two ways):
(1) i just saw Edith Frost play this (good version!) and I think the chords she played were D,G, and C, maybe an A somewhere. Fiddle around with these and you'll have something OK-sounding...
(2) C-F-C-G... you decide which is better...

Let the Wires Ring...

Meaulnes...

More Brother Rides:
just E and B...

New Partner: I think its in B, but my guitar may have tuned down, I think its only three chords: the 1t verse is: B, Ebm, E and the 'Always on my mind' part is the same. second verse: i think this may just be B & E and the 'new partner' part is also just B to E. Having seen them live i think it is in B that Will uses a capo on the second fret, so making the chords: A, Dbm & D...

No Gold Digger...

No More Workhorse Blues (two ways):
1) F - B - Eminor...for the first 3/4 of the song... and then at the end ( "I am a racing horse" ) B- D - Eminor...
2) verse: emaj7--a#m--d# ... chorus ("racing horse"): a#m--c#--d# ... note: the first chord, which may or may not actually be emaj7, is a standard E formation moved up to the second fret, which lets the 1st and 6th strings ring out. i'm not sure if you make the second string a# or b (open or first-fret covered)...

Ohio River Boat Song...

Old Jerusalem...

Patience:
"patience" goes like this: Bmaj / /, F#maj, Bmaj /
F#maj / /, Bmaj / /, Emaj // F#Maj
then repeat, etc...

Pushkin:
the intro goes:A,G,F,E,A and this gets repeated after every other verse and at the end. The verse part for "God is the answer..." goes A to C and for "God lies w/in" it goes to D, during the other verse parts("And you can't say...And I will not... And I guess that..." it goes from A to C, then A to G.

Riding: Em, G, Em. I like to throw in a D before going back to Em, to mimic the bass. When I saw Will play this, it didn't look like this was what he was playing, but I think my translation is good enough for jazz.

The Risen Lord:
Am-C-Am-C-Bm-C-G-Em-Bm-C-G-Em... then just repeat. you can figure out how long to hold on each chord by singing along...

The Sun Highlights the Lack In Each...

There Is No One What Will Take Care Of You...

Trudy Dies...

Untitled...

Valentine's Day:
it goes something like this: G, C, G, C, F, G... you can get the rest from this...

We All Us Three Will Ride (two ways):
1) i usually play this song with three chords, C, F and G, in the following order: C-F-C-F-G(2x) and C-F-C-G the last part of each verse.
2)b-e-b/b-e-f#/b-e-b/b-f#-b (on the record, will is playing these as bar chords up around the 7th and 9th frets)...

The Weaker Soldier...

Werner's Last Blues to Blokbuster...

West Palm Beach:
verse: c-a# ... a#-f-c ... chorus: a#-f-c...

Whither Thou Goest...

Winter Lady:
the chords for each verse are D major (open) followed by A major (open). then for the chorus, alternate between the same D major chord and C major (you guessed it, open). switch back for the verses. the rhythm is a bit tricky, but that's it...

Work Hard/Play Hard

You Have Cum In Your Hair And Your Dick Is Hanging Out:
G-D-C-D7--G-D-C--if I remember...

You Will Miss Me When I Burn:
picking>>> A Asus2 G ... chords>>> A G...
